Before LANL

Before coming to LANL, I was a researcher and project leader at the Computing Research Laboratory at New Mexico State University.

Before that, I was a Ph.D. student in the Functional Programming group, Computing Science department, University of Glasgow, in Glasgow, bonny Scotland, U.K.

Yet before that, a Master's student in the Programming Research Group, Computing Laboratory, and Jesus College, University of Oxford, England.

Between my Master's and Ph.D. degrees I travelled at bit, and worked for most of a year at my old company, TCI Software Research. Meanwhile the functional programming researchers at Oxford moved to Glasgow, which is why I landed there.

As an undergraduate, I mostly inhabited the Computer Science, Mathematics, and Chemistry departments of NMSU, and was a co-founder of TCI Software Research where I worked for several years. The company is still extant: it is now owned by one of the founders and has changed name to MacKichan Software, and is now headquartered in Washington state.
